easyVIEW provides automatic indexing of CAD drawings based on content. On installation, the software scans specified local and network drives for all CAD files and builds a corresponding database. For each drawing that it finds, the software scans the contents recording tag references and title block information.

This data is stored and indexed for each drawing. There is also a provision for assigning a pre-defined type to each drawing, for example PID, loop, etc. User-Defined types are also supported. After initial scanning and indexing, the user can search across all drawings on any combination of tag, loop, title block text, or drawing type. Once a drawing is found, easyVIEW allows the user to easily inspect it with a simplified interface for zooming and panning. The AutoLocate feature zooms in on tags and text automatically. This can be a real time-saver on your complicated engineering drawings! easyVIEW can also serve as a user utility to strip tag and title block information out of drawings and into a database.
